Casper Alsøe Foto Website

Website written in Ruby using the Rails framework. The site is hosted on Heroku.

Casper hasn't added any real content to the site, plus he's yet to buy a domain we can link there. So for now it's rather empty. The gallery however works and it fetches data from Flickr.

This is a news post...

Surprisingly, I haven't been very active here on my site for a while (apart from the mixes I've done each month).

I've been rather busy working as an assistant for a carpenter firm up till December last year. A friend of mine, who's an apprentice at the firm, got me the job...

MJLM - January Mix 2012

Here is the mix from this month. All done in Audacity since I recently moved to full time Linux on my desktop. This mix I managed to sync the songs to a matching BPM, so that the transitions are much more smooth.

Can't believe I didn't use Audacity before. It's way easier to use compared to FL Studio, at least for mixing songs together.

MJLM - December Mix

Let me start off by saying Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to whoever reads this. This month has been massive music-wise. I had so many great tracks to choose from, that I had to let some go in order to meet the 2-hourish limit. This mix is 2 hours, 17 minutes and 37 seconds long, so sit back and enjoy these new tracks/remixes.

MJLM - November Mix

Great new releases this month! From artists such as Armin, Kyau & Albert, Tiësto, Steve Aoki, Arty, Ørjan Nilsen and many more!

MJLM - October Mix

The mix of October! Most of the songs used here were released in October. I will use same principle for the next mix in November. This mix is an hour shorter than the previous. I thought a 2-hour mix was a bit overkill and there aren't rarely that many new exciting songs released within one month. I ran out of space on SoundCloud, so I'm gonna save that for real songs once I get to that point. Copyright's a bitch!

Website for Casper Alsøe Foto

I am currently working on a website for a fellow friend of mine. What's special about this one is that it runs on Ruby on Rails. Such a neat framework if you ask me! Compared to PHP, developing new applications are so much faster. Though it does seem to do magic at first sight, but once you dig into it and get familiar with it, you will be thankful.

Blender Media Intro

This is a short animation I did, to follow up with my site's logo. The point was basically to get hold on Blender, an Open Source 3D modelling application. It's rather impressive what it is able to accomplish compared to 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D and Maya.

Facebook Fixerizer

Facebook Fixerizer is a browser userscript that enhances the look and behaviour of Facebook.

Features

  • Repositions stories' dropdown widgets.

  • Removes any offline friends from the friend list in the sidebar.

  • Fixes missing idle markers in both friend lists.

  • Allows both the wall ticker and sidebar to be present at the same time.

  • Darkens the site's background slightly.

  • Removes the ticker within the sidebar.

  • Forces the wall ticker to be shown at all times.

MJLM - September Mix

A mix I decided to make, to get my hands working with FL Studio. It is nothing impressive, it's basically just cross fading between tracks. Sometimes more successfully done compared to certain parts in the mix. I should certainly have played around with the pitch control and get a synchronized BPM rolling to make longer and more smooth transitions. That'll be next time though!
